Being regular boaties, we got frustrated with the friction hinges not holding our hatches up. After many attempts at finding the perfect object to hold the hatch at different heights, the idea of a multi position hatch wedge was born. Simple, but effective, the pattern of ridges and recesses will stop it from slipping out of most brands of hatch when in place, and it will hold the hatch open at 4 different height settings. Gaps of 25, 50, 75, and 125mm (1, 2, 3 and 5") are achievable simply by changing orientation, and it can be easily tethered. For the stern thruster to function correctly, it is important that the propeller is submerged well below the waterline. If this is not the case, the propeller may suck air into the tunnel, with a considerable loss of thrust power as a consequence. Vetus has developed an extension kit for stern thrusters with tunnel diameters of Dia.150, 185, 250 or 300 mm. This kit consists of two shells made of GRP, together with all the necessary stainless steel fastenings. The kit can be easily retrofitted to existing installations. This extension kit should be used if the transom is fitted with other equipment, which may prevent unhindered water flow through the tunnel. The Vetus anti syphon device helps to prevent cooling water from siphoning back into the exhaust and ultimately into the engine when it is off. This is critical on boats where cooling water is injected into the exhaust less than 6 inches above the waterline. Features: Siphoning may be prevented by fitting the air vent at least 40 cm (15.75") above the waterline. The air bleed connection rotates 360 for an easier installation and can be removed without the use of tools. Can be easily dismantled by hand for cleaning. This version has a reliable anti-siphon pressure valve and is self-contained(periodic maintenance is required to prevent clogging with salt crystals).
