Amherst Island Pursuit Race 2015 Race Instructions

Rules: This event shall be governed by the International Sailing Federation Racing Rules of Sailing as adopted by C.Y.A, by class rules and by these Sailing Instructions.

Start: The race will be run on a staggered start basis. The first start will be at 10:00 AM, weather permitting. The starting time for each boat will be supplied at the skipper’s meeting and will be based on the elapsed time from the first start. The Race Committee will attempt to assist boats who are uncertain of their start times on channel 72 following the first start. The start line will be between the two floating race marks near the mouth of Collins Bay. Each boat must cross the starting line heading in a South Westerly direction.

Course: Counter clockwise around Amherst Island rounding the following navigational marks:

KM6 to Port

KM2 to Port

K10 to Port

KE2 to Port

KYC Race Mark "P" to Starboard

Withdrawals: Any boat withdrawing from the race will report their decision by VHF radio to the Race Comittee at their earliest opportunity. Please hail on 16 and then await an alternate channel.

Curfew: There is no curfew for this event, boats finishing after 17:00:00 must record their elapsed time and attempt to record the name of the boat ahead and behind them.

Finish: Boats will finish between the KYC Race Mark "P" and the KYC Flag Pole Ashore.
